Benue State LG Election Set For September 3

The Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC), has fixed September 3 for the conduct of Local Government election.
Local government election was last held in November 2012.

Chairman of the Commission, Mr John Tswua, announced the date on Friday at a stakeholders meeting with representatives of political parties and traditional rulers.



The commission said it was depending on them for a peaceful conduct of the election in their domain.

While the Chairman believes that the successful conduct of election is a function of all the stakeholders, the main opposition party, the People Democratic Party, is convinced the commission will be fair to all in the build up to the election.
