David Mark talk less But Act Most
Several Distinguished Senators applaud Senator David Mark as he makes his way to the stand to swear the oath. Senator Mark is now sworn-in as a Distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria representing Benue South Senatorial District and returns to an exchange of pleasantries with other Senators. Senator – Elect Ahmed Salau of Kogi Central Senatorial District is also sworn-in as a Senator of the Federal Republic as well and makes his way to his designated seat.
Senator Emmanuel Bwacha subsequently raises a petition against kidnapping & insurgency in his home state, Taraba. The Petition is laid and referred to the Senate #EthicsPPPCttee. Senator Dino Melaye of Kogi West also raises a petition on wrongful dismissal of one of his constituents and the petition is also laid & referred to #EthicsPPPCttee. Senator Bassey as well raises two petitions from his constituency, one of which is against the Nigerian Army and the petitions are laid before the Senate & referred to #EthicsPPPCttee
Senator Ben Murray Bruce also raises two petitions from his constituency which are both laid and referred to the #EthicsPPPCttee. Senator Clifford Ordia also raises a twin petition from his constituency, one of which is against the @NNPCgroup. Petitions are laid & referred to #EthicsPPPCttee.
The First Business of the day is the presentation of a report of the Joint C'ttees on Health & Agriculture & Rural Development by Senator Lanre Tejuoso. The Report laid is in respect of the Motion on the Ban on Nigerian Agricultural Products by the European Union.
The First Motion is on the Need for to patronize Made in Nigeria Goods in Nigeria by Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe of Abia South. The Senate recalls that in the 1960s up to the early 1970s, the Nigerian Economy ran on 'Made in Nigeria' exports. The Senate also notes that Government played an active part in this era by putting in place relevant policies and agencies towards #BuyNaijaToGrowTheNaira
